The lair of the unwholesome mage

His name has not been handed down by legends. What is known is that he was a wizard who lived a century ago and had his lair on a hill; he was feared and revered, until, over time, people noticed that he was no longer seen in town. Many thought he was dead, but no one dared to go and verify it. Over the years, some tried to sneak into his esoteric sanctum, but no one ever returned.
